Love Beyond 72 Days

Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries are getting a divorce after 72 days

(2 months).

The couple were wed in a star-studded, TV ceremony in August, but the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star said the couple were now splitting due to "irreconcilable differences".

"I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision," Kardashian said in a statement.

"I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don't work out as planned."

"Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love

and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty

and fills the hungry with good things."

Psalm 107: 8-9

What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about changed lives?

Lets give thanks to the lord for loving us, & putting up with our crazy inconsistent lives. Lets give thanks to the Lord for Loving us with His UNFAILING LOVE that lasts more than 72 DAYS!! Wow if from the day we accepted Christ into our lives and we counted until day 72. If God said on day 72, "I had hoped this was forever but..." like Kim did, I am not sure where my life would be today. Praise God that he indeed loves us, greater love than we can ever imagine.

Failed love has become normal...Yet God's love is talked about over and over in scripture. I will leave you with these verses because they say more about his REAL LOVE than I ever can.

"His Love endures forever" Psalm 118:2

"We love because he first loved us" 1 John 4:19

"The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love" Psalm 33:5

"May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you." Psalm 33:22

"Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies." Psalm 36:5

"How priceless is your unfailing love! Both High and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings." Psalm 36:7

"Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you" Psalms 63:3

How can I connect today's God's Story to my life?

Your world is full of numerous examples of failed love. It’s extremely difficult to actually come across an example in our society of true love. It becomes so hard to find Love that has not failed, even I begin to question, "How can God's love be Unfailing?" Love that we see today, seems to be all intangible, that is if we look to Hollywood and others first. Even though I have been a Christian for over 25 years, I have to remind myself of the times I have seen Jesus' Love and Faithfulness in my life. When I take time to remind myself I become overwhelmed by His great love, I even can feel unworthy.

Know this, YOU are WORTHY of God's UNFAILING LOVE!

God will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5b)!

Take time this week to separate yourself from the human display of love (I know its not easy). As you move away from the human side of love, take time to listen to what God has to say in the verses I have given you.

  • Write out on a paper, on your mirror, on your binder a verse talking about Gods unfailing love.
  • Ask God to remind you of His love for you in your life.
  • Take time and write THANKS to the Lord about his Unfailing Love in your life.

How can I connect Today's Story, God's Story, & My Story with others?

Lets be honest this story broke on Halloween and I am sure this was a topic over milky ways, kit kat's, and peanut butter cups. You may be tired of the drama from the Kardashian's, yet I hope you and your friends understand that REAL love does exist. Ask your friends what they think about Love?

  • Ask if they believe in true love?
  • Ask them is they would want a love that would never fail?

If the conversation leads, share about how you may not fully understand but you know that God has unfailing love for you, and your friends.
