Are You Walking In The Truth?!

Polygraphs Proposed for Indiana Congressional Debate

3 John 1:3-4

3 For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. (ESV)

What does today's God's Story scripture teach us?

Are you walking in the truth? Do you ever find it hard to tell the truth? When we do, everyone wins. John says in his letter to his friend, Gaius, that he rejoiced knowing that Gaius was walking in the truth. When we live a life of truth, those who have poured into us rejoice because of our truth. When we walk in truth, it brings them great joy, and becomes an encouragement to them in their own abiding relationship with Jesus Christ.

How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?

  • Pray, asking God to help you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth at all times.
  • Commit to tell the truth at all times.
  • Ask a close friend to help you always tell the truth.

How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?

  • Encourage a friend to choose the way of the truth if you see or hear them getting caught up in a lie.
  • Listen closely to your friends and help them to walk in the truth.
  • Remind others that in a world where you sometimes aren't certain who is telling the truth, that our Heavenly Father is the God of Truth!
